Downtown Lorain and the Black River

This is an aerial view of the northern section of downtown Lorain, Ohio, the Black River and East Erie Avenue that was taken from the west of downtown. Erie Avenue (West and East)is at the center and center-left of the photograph. The High-Level (Bascule) bridge is visible, as is part of the Lorain shipyards. An unknown barge can be seen moored at the dock in the top right of the photo. The photographer is unknown. Date is not certain, but is likely from the mid-1930s.
