In the top photo, two men kneel and look at a fire hose after the fire that devastated the Hotel Lorain on February 18, 1936. The men are kneeling in front of what may be a hotel entrance.
The second photo is of the interior of one of the hotel rooms after the fire. Icicles cover all the items in the room. Visible are a floor lamp, a table, and a sofa. The entrance door to the room is visible at the back.
The photographer is unknown.
