/ Downtown Lorain
A photograph of the Wagner Block building at the southeast corner of West Erie avenue at its intersection with Broadway avenue. The Wagner Block building was the location of the Wagner Opera House in the first decade of the 20th century. The building was also used for court hearings of individuals arrested for crimes by Lorain police. The Wagner Block was heavily damaged by the tornado which struck downtown Lorain on June 28, 1924 and was eventually demolished. Photographer is unknown, but may have possibly been Willis Leiter. The date of the photograph is also not known, but can possibly be dated to the 1900 - 1910 era.
