The photograph is a view of Franklin Street (now known as Fifth Street), Lorain, Ohio looking west from Broadway Avenue. Grant's Ice Cream Factory, owned by Maurice A. Grant, is at the right of the photograph. The First Church of Christ is to the west of Grant's. There is snow on the ground in the photo, which indicates that this is a winter scene. This photograph was taken by well-known early Lorain photographer Willis Leiter, most likely between 1905 and 1910. Leiter was also the owner of the Leiter Post Card Company, and this photo was used in his photo post card business.
