A photograph of the residence of the McCahon family. The home is on the northwest corner of 5th street and Hamilton Avenue near downtown Lorain, Ohio. The street address for the home is given in Lorain city directories as 440 Hamilton Avenue, Lorain and 1102 Fifth street. This house is included in the 1993 Ohio Historic Inventory of the Charleston Village neighborhood in the city of Lorain. In the OHI, the house is called the "Wickens - McCahon House". George Wickens, a prominent businessman & former Lorain mayor, was the first owner of the home. The McCahon family owned McCahon Printers at 647 Broadway, a few blocks from their home. The photographer is unknown. The date of the photograph is attributed to the 1960s.
