A birds-eye view of Lorain, Ohio
A postcard aerial view of downtown Lorain Ohio from what is now known as Reid Avenue. The photo or lined drawing appears to be from the vantage of another building on the 800 block of Reid Avenue. The church now known as Saint John's United Church of Christ (now closed) is in the center lower right of the drawing/photo. North of that church on the center right of the photo is the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Across the street from Saint John's is what was known for most of the 20th century as Saint Mary's Catholic parochial school. Lake Erie and the shoreline are visible at the top of the photo. The reverse of the postcard (not scanned) shows a postmark of July 7, 1907, so the date of the postcard may be that year or perhaps a year earlier. The postcard is addressed to "Miss Foss Cummings, Gnadenhutten, Ohio". The postcard was printed by Eldred and Company.
